Dr. Cyrus Gakuo Karuga

Dr. Cyrus Gakuo Karuga is a Kenyan Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT) surgeon with extensive experience in clinical practice, medical leadership, and healthcare service development. He served as Chairman of the Kenya Ear, Nose and Throat Society from 2023 to 2025, where he played a key role in advancing ENT practice, professional collaboration, and standards of patient care in Kenya.
Dr. Karuga is a Director at Prodigy ENT and City Health Hospital, where he is actively involved in both clinical practice and healthcare management. He is also the Chairperson of Machakos Doctors Plaza, contributing to the development of medical infrastructure and services for healthcare professionals and patients in the region.
In academia, Dr. Karuga served as a lecturer at Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology from 2014 to 2022, where he was involved in teaching and mentoring medical students and young doctors.
In addition to his clinical and leadership roles, he serves as a proctor for Medtronic, supporting the training of surgeons in specialized medical technologies and procedures.
Through his work in surgery, education, and healthcare leadership, Dr. Karuga continues to contribute to the advancement of ENT care and the strengthening of healthcare systems in Kenya.
Dr. Samuel Okerosi

Dr. Samuel Ndemo Okerosi is a consultant Ear Nose Throat Head and Neck surgeon based at the Kenyatta National hosptial. He completed his Medicine and ENT head and neck training at the University of Nairobi and further sub-specialized in head and neck surgery at the Chris O Brien Lifehouse cancer centre in Sydney, Australia. He is an honorary lecturer at the University of Nairobi Faculty of Medicine. He Joined the KENTs Executive team in 2023 and is currently the CME convenor.
Dr Okerosi also serves as the President of the Global Otolaryngology Head and Neck Initiative. He is the co Lead Editor of the Global ENT guidelines. He has multiple publications focusing on management of ENT conditions and equitable access to care for those with ENT conditions.

Dr. Ian Macharia

Dr. Ian Macharia is an ENT surgeon based in Nairobi, Kenya, with special interests in rhinology, sleep surgery, and advanced airway management. He serves as Head of the ENT Unit at Kenyatta University Teaching, Referral and Research Hospital (KUTRRH), where he leads clinical services, surgical training, and capacity-building initiatives.
Dr. Macharia completed his medical training and ENT residency at the University of Nairobi and has pursued advanced international training in rhinology, and sleep surgery.
He is also a consultant at Nairobi ENT Clinic, contributing to specialized care in sinus disease, sleep-disordered breathing and Obstructive Sleep Apnea.
