Dr. Sophie Gitonga

Chairperson

Kenya Ear, Nose and Throat Society

Welcome to the Kenya Ear Nose and Throat Society.

On behalf of the Council and Members of the Society, I am pleased to welcome you to our official platform. The Kenya ENT Society brings together Specialists committed to advancing the science and practice of otorhinolaryngology head and neck surgery in Kenya and the region.

ENT Practice in Kenya continues to evolve rapidly. We are seeing a significant diversification of our specialty, with increasing sub-specialization in areas such as otology and neurotology, rhinology and skull base surgery, allergy and sleep medicine, head and neck oncology, paediatric ENT, laryngology, speech and swallowing therapy and audiology. This growth reflects our collective commitment to meeting the complex and changing needs of our Kenyan and regional populations, while aligning with global standards of care.

Our mission is still to promote excellence in patient care through continuous professional development, innovation, research, mentorship, advocacy, and collaboration. Together with my able Council, I am committed to strengthening training pathways, supporting the growth of sub-specialization, and fostering collaboration with local, regional, and international partners. Through continuous scientific engagement, hands-on training workshops, and world class scientific conferences we aim to ensure accessible, high-quality ENT services for all.

In this era of rapid technological advancement and evolving healthcare challenges, collaboration remains central to our work. We are actively engaged with local and international partners, policymakers, and allied healthcare professionals to address gaps in service delivery, build capacity, and shape the future of ENT Practice in our region.

This website therefore serves as a hub for our members, partners and the public in providing information on our activities, education opportunities, conferences, guidelines and advocacy initiatives. I invite you to explore, engage and contribute to our shared vision in advancing ENT care in Kenya and beyond.

Thank you for your continued support and commitment to the Kenya ENT Society.
